You are bidding on a Gonder Original Pitcher (Number 1205) with a green crackle glaze in EXCELLENT Condition! Gonder Ceramic Arts was founded by G. Lawton Gonder in 1941 and was in production for the next 15 years until the plant closed in 1957. The plant was located in the Zaneville, Ohio area and produced vases, planters, figurines, tiles, kitchenware, and lamps that were shipped throughout the country. Gonder's area of expertise was in ceramic glazes and the founder excelled so well that he was recognized by the American Ceramic Society and was awarded fellowship status. Their crackle glaze, of which this pitcher is an excellent example, was especially notable and their glazes tended to be so good that minimal crazing is evident on most pieces even after so many years. Again, this pitcher is an excellent example of this, with no crazing at all evident. In fact, this pitcher shows little wear overall. The insides need a good cleaning, but otherwise t is nothing about this item to indicate how old it is! No cracks, chips or nicks evident anyw on this piece! A search shows this particular pitcher, with a non-crackle glaze, to be worth anyw between $55 and 60. Gonder is starting to gain recognition among collectors, and t are any number of websites dedicated to people with interest in this maker. 's your chance to own a piece as well!
