Really nice Gonder piece -- a reclining panther -- the largest panther Gonder produced. It is marked Gonder Original 210 on the underside. Glaze is a greenish underglaze with brown overglaze designed to make it look like fur (the color was hard to capture in the picture). It appears to be in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The unglazed rim on the bottom has minor wear and dirt from sitting. T are minor glaze skips on the bottom, but none evident on the body of the panther. Gonder Ceramic Arts, Inc., was opened by Lawton Gonder in 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio. Gonder made high-grade pottery decorated with flambe, drip, gold crackle, and Chinese crackle glazes. The factory closed in 1957. We double box glassware so that it has a better chance of arriving safely. Would make an excellent gift or addition to your collection. Thanks for looking.
