The pipes I'm selling been reamed, redrilled when necessary and thoroughly cleaned with Everclear, from the stem to the bowl . If your like i am, you'll still probably run a pipe cleaner or cotton swab or two....and that's fine.

A word about "fills".........approx. 90% of the pipes made contain a fill or fills of one type or another. Briar is a very dense root that frequently has smaller voids. A "fill" in a pipe is virtually always "cosmetic" and has nothing to do with how the pipe smokes. Only the most expensive pipes might be absent of fills.

Pipe tips: Never...but Never remove a stem by grabbing the head of the pipe.....Always grab your pipe by the shank.....I've seen too many shanks cracked and broken by grabbing the heads.

If you buy an estate pipe and the stem won't come out...stick it in the freezer over night and that will usually do the trick and allow it to be removed.

If the stem is a little loose, smoke your pipe a couple of times and it should snug right up. Alcohol used in cleaning withdraws most all of the tars and moisture....which is replaced by smoking the pipe.
