If you like garage sales, thrift store shopping, and getting a great deal - you'll LOVE Webster's @ ttic! Antique Gooseneck Rocker Chair! Gooseneck rockers first made an appearance in the 18th century. Craftsman used to carve the arms and legs of the rockers in the unique shape of a goose neck, which is how the rocking chairs got their name. Such a goose-neck shape gives the arms a very nice curve that is attractive to look at and at the same time, very comfortable. We are not certain of the age of this particular chair, but the wood of the gooseneck handles has excellent grain and character. The chair is structurally sound and is very comfortable. The fabric is heavy upholstery fabric and it is beginning to wear through on the front edge of the seat as pictured. T is no fabric on the back side of the chair, only a thin cardboard/paper stapled to the back frame as pictured. The springs are in very good condition and the chair rocks smoothly and quietly. The only markings that we found on the chair was a very small glued tag on the underside that says 317 Rocker 6397. This comfy chair could be used in a Rustic or Shabby Chic decor or re-upholstered to add a unique and beautiful piece of old time charm to just about any room.
