Gordon Russell Leather andPlywood Office chair. This chair is an amalgamation of both the Charles and Ray Eames designed Lounge and Time Life chairs produced by Herman Miller but this time manufactured by Giroflex for Gordon Russell. Although designed by Gordon Russell this piece mimics both the Time life’s aluminum arms and Lounge Chairs plywood structural shells, these elements merge to make the main structure of the chair and results in a truly unique piece of furniture. The leather is in excellent condition and is showing a patina that commiserates with the age of the chair while having very little overall wear. The rosewood veneered plywood is also in great condition and has just had three fresh coats of Liberon “finishing oil”, the aluminum arms and five legged base are both pit free and structurally sound and have a lovely satin finish and luster for its age. This chair is supremely comfortable; I can personally vouch for this as I owned one of these for three years. Due to its size and weight the chair will have to be either collected or delivered via third party courier.
