I acquired this beautiful piece from an estate a couple of years ago, and I'm loathe to part with it, but it's been collecting dust and I would prefer it go to someone who will truly appreciate it. This kettle is quite large: 10" high to top of finial, 14" high to top of handle, 8" in diameter at widest point, 7" in diameter at bottom, 12.5" wide across from back to tip of spout. Brass accents include: spout, handle, finial, band around lid, band around base, and a verical piece from top edge to bottom edge on the spout side, which widens to surround spout on the way down. A unique feature is the vine-like embellishment around the kettle near the top on the side, around the outside edge of the top, and around the lid. The vertical brass piece described above also shows this lovely detailing. I don't know enough about metalwork to say for certain how this design was achieved, but it looks like stamping of some kind. In extraordinary condition. This piece has clearly been well cared for and is tfore beautifully preserved. The finial is loose and could used a little soldering, the interior needs to be cleaned (see pic), and t are a couple of tiny dents and dings and t, which only add to the antique beauty.
