This is an antique chandelier from France, made around 1920 +/-. The center bowl is made out of thick-walled alabaster stone and shows a beautiful, carved pattern underneath. Above the bowl has an overlapping border, unlit the stone has an off-white, light gray color with lighter and darker embeddings in it. Also there are plenty of quartz-colored veinings going through the stone. Lit the bowl gives off a warm and atmospheric light, the veinings turn into a stunning deep black tone and the entire chandelier looks simply amazing. The canopy is also made out of alabaster stone, the cord fixture is still original and very typical and traditional for many french chandeliers from the time between 1900 - 30s. The alabaster chandelier is in very good condition and shows only minor signs of age. There are some very few and small scratches on the surface, but no cracks or chips. The electric is in full working order, the bulb socket is still original. The chandelier is wired to European standard and must be converted to U.S. currency. The total height of the chandelier is 28.4" (72 cm). The diameter of the alabaster bowl is 15.8" (40 cm). The thickness of the stone is about 0.4" (1 cm). The canopy has a diameter of 4.9" (12,5 cm).
