An Early , Original Finish, Hand Dovetailed, Chestnut Wood ,Hanging " Spill Box" In Excellent Original Overall Condition. A " Spill" is a Coiled Shaving of Wood, made by a Small Hand Plane, and they would be kept by the Fireplace, and used one by one ,to stick into the Flame, and catch on ,then to be used to Light Cigars, and Pipes. This One is in it;s Original Finish ,and the Visible Nails are all Hand Made and Square. It needs nothing and is in ready to hang and use condition. It measures 8 1/4" high to the top of the back Panel x 6 3/4" across the front x 4" out from the Wall. I'm selling it with NO reserve ,and only one Penny to start.
