This is another Gorgeous Designed and high quality Westminster chimes mantle clock that was part of a private estate's antique clock collection (Please view the pictures below). The extremely wide and beautifully designed all wooden case was carved from a lovely grained Redish Brown wood (Possibly Mahogany) and measures an impressive 27 1/2" long and 8 3/4" tall in the center . The center of the wooden case is shaped in a dome design with long flowing and wavey sides. On both sides of the front of the case are two Golden metal Floral patterns with Golden metal inlaid lines running outward (looks like a bird winged pattern). T is also another straight Gold line that runs completely across the bottom. The case is supported on four Gold metal legs. The 7" diameter face of the clock is protected behind a clear dome shaped glass circular panel that is trimmed with a Brass metal frame. The face is very lovely with a outer White shaded Band that is numbered in Arabic numerals and the wonderful wood of the case in the center. The hands are also very decorative. T is the following written in Golden script letters "WESTMINSTER SUPERANCEE". The movement is one of great quality, created from solid Brass metal and key wound. (comes with key). The movement is operated by a "Balance Wheel escapement" which means the clock doesn't have to be level to run. The clock runs very good and runs for 8 days when fully wound. The clock will play a fabulous version of the Westminster chimes once ever quarter hour and on the hour will strike the amount of times for the hour of day. This music is played on a five bar arrangement. The movement is marked as follows" Made in Germany for Seth Thomas A Talley industries co Thomaston Conn (2) two jewels". The condition is excellent . I can see no defects anyw .This Gorgeous Westminster chimes Mantle clock is one of the finest ever made and will make some lucky person a real conversation piece in t home's decor. I will keep my price very low and remember this auction is for only 5 days , so place your bids early.
