COLUMBUS DAY SALE :This is a magnificent antique cantonese, mandarin famille rose medallion chinese export porcelain twin handled LARGE baluster vase beautifully painted allover with vignettes of Imperial figures, flowers & fauna, and other iconic motifs in those delicious famille rose enamels with gold tracing and trim...circa 1840-60....this is one fabulous and impressive vase.YES, It has been drilled and electrified as a lamp, now on teakwood base and having brass cap. YES, one handle has been restored or replaced around 1990..but right now I can't tell which one it is...see the photos, perhaps you can tell which one?This lamp was purchased from Eagles & The Guild Antiques on Madison Ave. NYC in 1992 for $1800, by Philadelphia's most famous, high-society interior design team (names we won't mention here...but they loved being in the the local tabloids) while decorating the apartment for the mother of our client.Today is Columbus day, and I'm going to have a bit of fun.
