This is a wonderful old Limoges plate that is signed and painted by Pickard artist Howard Reury. Reury was one of the more popular and respected of the Pickard artist, doing excellent work. He opened his own studio in teens, and also worked for the Wight studios. This plate is beautifully painted with a wide band of gold with a stylized design on the outer part of the plate as well as a nice thick band of gold around the rim. The painting is og Nouveau Poppies in very rich, jewel tones of deep orange/red and dramatic black for the center stamens. The Poppy leaves reach inward towards the center. All flowers, leaves and stems are outlined in gold. The Plate measures 8 1/2" wide. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The colors and the gold are stunning. It is marked with Limoges Delinieres Mark 3, 1894-1900 and signed by Reury.
