Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous hand painted 19th Century Royal Worcester porcelain Pitcher with gilded figural "Elephant" handle. Measures 7 3/4" high with a top diameter of 2 3/4", the maximum width is 5 1/4" and the base is 4 1/2" in diameter. This lovely pitcher has soft background coloration in shades of pale yellow with gilt encrusted embellishment. The ewer is beautifully decorated with a hand enameled floral design. There are intricate details in the floral design, enameled in light blue and lavender, multi-colored foliage, accented with gilt overlay decoration. The pitcher has a gilded figural elephant head and trunk handle, gilded upper body and spout with two gilt bands around the upper and lower body with embossed design in high relief. The gilding is superb with heavy application, all in excellent condition. The base is marked with the Royal Worcester trademark stamp and number "419" in purple ink, artist initials "B K" in red. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, c. 1880-90.
