Please note that I received help from a very helpful and nice person about the composition of these scissors, they are silverplate, not sterling and I have included their information below. Please be aware of this if you are bidding. The picture of the hallmark (a Christofle scale--like the scale of justice--with the letters OC or CC on both shoulders of the scale with 3 or 4 stars above the scale) indicates it is SILVERPLATE. Post-1945, this silverplate designation is frequently followed by a hallmark of a horse head like the chess piece, knight. The Christofle sterling hallmark is either another horizontal diamond-shaped hallmark containing a bumble bee (France/pre-1940) or a square hallmark containing goddess Minerva with a number 1 (92.5% silver) or number 2 (95% silver) on the right shoulder of the hallmark. That would be the European STERLING SILVER marking.
