This listing is for a beautiful English Staffordshire Dog, beautiful! I AM NOT AN EXPERT on this item, so please ask questions!!! I know from a bit of research that this is a very desirable example of this dog -- made of pottery, with an arched back, separated feet, 24K gold fired on his collar and tag. The bottom definitely reads "Staffordshire" and "England" and has a hand-painted number "27" and an "X" although the stamped, fired-on paint is a bit smudged. The dog is in really excellent condition, no chips or cracks or damage. He measures approximately 8 inches tall and 7 inches wide. There is a tiny paint rub on one paw but other possible "rubs" may be from the way the original paint was applied, its hard to tell. His feet are grey with black painted "toenails". I have no idea how old this item is but I've seen similar advertised as being circa 1880.Feel free to contact me if you would like additional details about this wonderful collectible, I'm not an expert but I'll do my best to answer your questions.
