Absolutely gorgeous antique Cranberry Spanish Lace or Opaline Brocade bride's bowl or wedding bowl. While it is in and of itself a beautiful piece of cranberry opalescent glass, this is very unusual in that it has a "pie crust" ruffle as opposed to the usual eight lobed ruffle that it most often seen. This is most likely a fine example of Northwood's skill as Fenton did not often stray from established format in design. The bowl measures 10" in diameter by 4" in height and has no chips cracks or other defects oth4er than a few entrapped (not broken) air bubbles which were common to glass of the Victorian era. A truly exquisite piece of cranberry opalescent art glass fro a bygone era. As cranberry glass required the infusion of gold into the molten glass, this is a particularly valuable piece and one that is seldom ever made at present.
