Gorham Chantilly Circa 1895 Antique Sterling 88-Piece Silver Flatware Set - There is only one Chantilly, and this set comes from its first year of introduction, "1895." Bearing the Gorham Hallmark of Excellence, this pattern, more than a century after its introduction in 1895, is still Gorham's most popular silver flatware pattern. The detailed richly carved handle, designed from the Louis XV era, creates a beautiful flowing design pattern. The Gorham Chantilly pattern is aristocrat enough to also be used aboard Airforce One. The majority of the pieces in this 88-piece set appear to be only very gently used, showing only minimal wear and should be considered to be in excellent condition, with no chips, bends, etc. Some of the pieces need polishing, while some appear to be never used. Most bear what appears to be the "B" or "R" monogram, but some are monogram free. In addition, many have the Gorham 1895 Sterling identification with the added Lion/Anchor/G Pattern. The 88-piece Chantilly 1895 flatware set is as follows: 8 ~ Ice Tea Spoons (7 1/2 in") 19 ~ Teaspoons (6") 3 ~ Serving Spoons (8 1/2") 4 ~ Demitasse Spoons (4") 4 ~ Soup Spoons (6 1/2") 2 ~ 1 Ea Roased Carving Knife [10"] And Fork [9"]) 1 ~ Serving Fork (8 3/4") 10 ~ Dinner/Lunch Knives(ranging from 81/2"-10") 8 ~ Butter Knives (5 3/4") 12 ~ Salad Forks (6 1/2") 4 ~ Dinner Forks (7 1/2") 6 ~ Lunch Forks (7") 7 ~ Seafood Forks (5 1/2") Also included will be several felt cloth wrappers that have stored the sterling. These are in average to below average condition. Please E-mail with any questions or photos regarding more detail.
