This is a Very Rare Elegant Antique made in year 1916, Sterling Silver three Piece Gorham Plymouth Vegetable serving dish. It contains bottom piece, top piece which can be used as a separate serving dish and a third piece, a beautiful detachable handle. The set is a fabulous example of the Art Deco period in sterling silver, the edge lines, the curves simply fantastic. It does not seem used much in past 90 years. You can see all three pieces marked sterling, the bottom has full gorham sterling hallmark and a Roman axe? dating this piece to 1916, you can also see the pattern number and retail company. This piece is in perfect condition just fine scratches due to cleaning and handling, mostly on the top of the lid. It is almost impossible to see a piece this old without knive scratces, fork or faucet dings, but this one seems an exception. I hand polished lightly to inspect, but I could not find even a pinhead ding or defect on both pieces. Cover and handle match nicely, it has a fancy monogram of the period on one side of top piece that enhances its antique apperance. It is a very elegant, eyecatching piece, thick gauge sterling, It is about 10" long 6.5" wide and 4.5" high, approx. measurements are from outside tip to tip, side to side, top to bottom including handle inserted with both pieces, hard to measure exactly. This is one of my most favorite sets. I hope buyer will cherish this extraordinary find for a life. Please enjoy the pictures of this beauty.
