Large, approximately 22 inch old pagan scenic platter with dragons and devil (demon or pagan god).I was told that this was purchased at a curio antique shop in the 60's by the former owner of my house. It was hung on the wall and has aged as seen in the photos.It actually has alot of patina and verdigris on it, that doesn't show with a flash. I know it will clean up, but I'm not sure if that would diminish the value, so I left it as is. The discoloration is patina of varying age and degree, but no significant corrosion or erosion of the metal.It has two small pin nail holes at the bottom, that you would have to be looking for to see them.I am unsure of the age, it is quite old. I am sure that the Gothic border is unusual and highly sought after.The scene depicts a gargoyle, devil or other menacing face with dragons or serpents at it's side, looking over a Renaissance feast or festival, with music, a lyre player, possibly wedding, feast of cornucopia and an old European village.T seems to be prices on the back of the platter in old markings, maybe both euros and dollars? It is only marker and will come off, again, I didn't want to clean its beautifully aged condition. Please no e-checks, payment within 3 days.
