**** Redesign of Gottlieb's System 80 SOUND / SPEECH CARD **** THE LATEST MAY 2013 System 80 / 80A RELEASE . (Not all of 80A games use this card; contact me if your 80A game is compatible for use). Swemmer Electronics has again some NEW Sound/speech boards available. I also have NEW sound/speech cards coming with the OLD LM379 amplifier because people out there keep asking for them. So, you ask, I build. YOU want it, you got it. The last revision C-20887-3 of Gottlieb System80 & 80A sound/speech boards are coming! (They will be called C-20887-5). The 'OLD' revision with LM379S amplifier will sell for $159.00 each. This is due to the amount I had to pay of $30.00 for each amplifier at cost. Good news here is when you don't need the Votrax SC-01A speech chip, I will buy that chip back from you and refund $20.00 as a discount on your new board. (So you will only pay $139.00). So, check if your game uses speech or not. THIS version NOW for sale on EBAY has the LM379 (obsolete) amplifier replaced by a LM1875 type. This last one is louder, more clear, bassy and widely available. Also this component is thermal protected (2 minutes reset time) against extreme overheating when you decide to get over excited by cranking up the volume and blow the doors of the hinges and the dust off your speaker(s). This setup can be cranked up to extreme levels of sound and speech. The entire end amplifying stage has been re engineered and integrated on this board. Also, every voltage rail has it's own colored LED and many stages on the board are equipped with LEDs to show the present voltages. In fact it was a request of the buyers to add some more 'life' to these 'boring' boards and hence I took care of that. Both versions of the newly built sound/speech cards will fit directly on the existing mounting studs/standoffs in your System 80 or 80A pinball game. This sound /speech board operates exactly like the latest revision board that Gottlieb produced. Trimmer R6 can be adjusted to your own taste of voice pitch. With the other trimmers on the board I would gladly advice you NOT to mess with since these are set during the testing stage after manufacturing. Doing so anyway is at your own risk. All values are documented per serial number and I have grounded reasons for doing so. Only thing adjusted by you, the buyer, are the DIP switches for your personal game settings, R6 for the voice pitch and trimmer R36 for the RCA-out volume to your external sound set if you desire to take this card a notch furter and hook a P.A. system to it. NOTE: When your System 80 or 80A game does NOT need the SC-01A Votrax Speech Chip (example: Haunted House) I will give you a $20.00 dollar refund if you let me keep that chip. So instead of paying $149.00, you get a 20 dollar discount and pay only $129.00 for your new Sound Card. Email me here on EBay and tell me what game you use the card for and if you want me to buy back the Votrax chip. When having questions and/or in need of help: CONTACT ME before screwing around with your new board, there is no need for that. Also I still have NEW driver cards with SOFT START, so NO more *** THUNK **** when turning on your game!These new Driver Cards will sell for $169.00 until SOLD OUT.
