We are pleased to offer this magnificent, authentic Goyard Steamer Trunk made in Paris at the turn of the century by E. Goyard Aine, famed French luggage maker. This rare trunk is very special due to its large size, coloring and is still intact with original hangers. The trunk measures: 36" High X 21" Wide X 12.75" Deep This Vintage Goyard trunk with distinctive pattern was produced in the early 1900's, estimated to be c. 1930. The painstakingly hand painted Goyard pattern was designed to overlap fashion to form a Y to commemorate the three centuries of the Goyard family history. In 1856 La Maison Goyard company began making trunks, cases, luggage, and handbags in Paris for high society. The trunk is engraved with "E. Goyard Aine, 233 rue St Honore Paris". The brass fittings are typical of Goyard and other competitors of the time. This trunk has all brass fittings that maintain their original patina and coating. It is in wonderful condition as you can see from the photographsand has the expected normal travel wear and tear from travel and its age, some minor water damage and professional handle restoration. You will be hard-pressed to find a nicer vintage trunk than this, worthy of any museum. The brass lock, latches, and both handles are complete and in perfect working order (no key to lock). The hand painted exterior canvas contains the famous Goyard pattern which includes the Goyard name in various places throughout. The E. Goyard Aine name can be found all over this trunk. It appears on the brass lock, latches, linen straps of the trunk. The infamous Goyard Boutique address of 233 Rue St. Honore also appears in several places including a metal plate on the trunk's side. The trunk contains its original wood interior hangers , which are rarely found in a Goyard trunk of this age. It also has pull-out metal hanging rods to which the hangers are custom fit. Their are some water stains on the fabric on the underside of the lid. The rest of the linen is overall in good shape with only minor stains. These issues can easily be remedied. This is "Goyard" through and through.... a truly lovely piece that we know you'll appreciate!! Please Note: I have described this trunk to the best of my knowledge.
