Graduated Set Six English Pewter Measures

Although pewter is certainly not an area of expertise for us, we recently purchased a small collection of pewter from a local estate. Much of it will be listed this week, so check our other auctions. I will try to describe it as accurately as possible, please feel free to email any questions or comments. Reserves are just to protect our investment and are on the relative low side. That being said, this auction is for a set of six graduated measures, English, possibly an assembled set though they are very similar in banding etc. Probably date from late 19th century. Starting with the largest measure as #1: Height 4 3/4" - some mis-shaping to both top and base from use, a couple of small dents - marked on upper rim with a crown over VR over 97; also marked with crown over ER over 97; Number 2 - 3 3/4" tall - some mis-shaping to top and base from use, small dents - marked on front HALF PINT; marked upper rim crown over VR over 99, some resoldering at top of handle w joins mug; Number 3 - height 3", some mis-shaping to top and base from use, marked GILL on front, marked on upper rim crown over VR over 200; Measure #4 - Height 2 1/4", usual rim and base mis-shaping, few dents - front marked 1/2 gill, upper rim marked crown over ER over 6 and also crown over GR over 103 (not sure of this mark); Measure number 5 - height 2", usual dents and mis-shaping, no discernible markings; Measure #6 - height 2 ",usual dents etc. - marked quarter gill, also crown over ER over 12 also some other rim marks I can't make out. One of the measures also has the number 1500 written in magic marker on base that was probably a collector or dealer's numbering at a much later date. I'm sure that could easily be removed, I just haven't tried. Shipping and insurance $12 International shipping at actual cost. Email with any questions. Good luck.
