Of special note is the engraving of Edgar Allen Poe at the beginning of the February 1845 issue and the first printing of the essay on Poe by James Russell Lowell in the same issue. This essay contains reprints of the Poe poems, "To Helen," "The Haunted Palace," "Lenore," and an excerpt of "Al Aaraaf." Covers show rubbing and wear. Interior pages show foxing throughout.
