probably Ohio Valley, ca 1810, poplar, constructed with pins and wrought nails. A two-piece desk, upper section with 4 shelves behind 2 doors each having 8 wavy glass panes with mullions to provide the appearance of 16 panes; lower section with fall front writing surface, deep open well with compartments; all resting on robust square tapered legs. Outside painted in an old orange and red feather graining with crazed surface; interior of doors and writing surface in a dry old red; all paint is likely original; 83` high x 47` wide x 27` deep.
