A Grammy Medallion, 1971. Made of brass, with the NARAS logo on front and the back engraved "In Appreciation / John Wayne / The Grammy Awards Show / Telecast 1971;" housed in its own wooden box.
Diameter: 3" John Wayne was a presenter at this 13th Grammy Awards show which took place on March 16, 1971. He announced the winner for 'Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special' which was John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison for "Let It Be;" Wayne then handed the awards to Paul and Linda McCartney who accepted for the rest of the band.
