Unique and unusual insulators and collectibles. Up for bids today is this very nice green/white speckle granite 3/4 groove childs axe. This is N American and in relatively good condition.I cannot say w this was found as I purchased it at an antique show, but I can tell you that I am 100% sure it is an authentic axe and not a reproduction or fake. This stone axe was either a childs axe or an axe that had been used and re sharpened so much that it was finally worn down to this small size and narrow cutting edge. The hammer end is in decent condition but t is a chunk shorn off, probably from a plough or disc hitting it that is seen in the second picture. The cutting bit edge is in very good condition but has a little light chipping to the side and a good polish to the bit's edges.Axe is 3 5/8" long and 2 1/4" wide at groove.I have been a member of the Ohio Archeological Society for many years and do NOT support or condone the selling of counterfeits or illegally obtained artifacts,so you can bid with complete confidence that you are getting an authentic American indian stone tool .Reasonable reserve of $45.Please contact me with any questions.
