is a truly scarce item. It is a Columbia Graphophone 20th Century cylinder record in near mint condition. It is blakck and shiny with NO mold whatsoever. The title is Valse Melodique, # 72503. It is six inches long, in contrast to regular cylinder records which are about four plus inches long. The advertising said that these records played for a full three minutes (standard size only play for two minutes). These were made for play on special Columbia graphophones which had a six inch long mandrel and could play either size record. I have a mahogany Columbia BM cylinder phonograph (equivalent in size to an Edison Triumph) and have played this record. The photos shows the record, which has no mildew, and has a small chip on each end, not affecting play. The very end has a very tight crack, about 1/2" long which does not affect play nor is it likely to spread with normal play. One could heat a screwdriver blade and melt a bit of the wax inside to prevent spreading, but I don't think it is necessary at all.The record plays loud and clear and would be a great addition to your record collection. This is a very scarce record the buyer will be well satisfied. Buyer pays actual shipping. eBay's shipping calculator is grossly unreliable. I will give you the true shipping cost at end of auction. Should be less than $9 with insurance. I accept read more
