18th Century Chippendale Country Chest of Drawers! Low starting bid! This is a great, antique Chippendale chest of drawers dating from the 1740s to 1780s. This wonderful early piece of Americana features a slightly overhanging top, two small drawers above three larger, graduated drawers. Constructed entirely of solid yellow pine, with hand dovetailed and square nail construction. The ogee bracket feet are original. The early Colonial maple finish is completely original as well. The back consists of five vertical, rough hewn planks. Wonderful original finish, showing wear and some slight stains consistent of 300 year old furnishings, lovely patina. Measurements are 40" high, 42-1/4" wide and 16-3/8" deep. The three large graduated drawers range in height from 7-1/2", 8-1/2" and 9-1/4" from top large to bottom large. Condition: Overall excellent. Structurally sound, sturdy and ready to use. The hand cast period brasses are replacements, however they are antique 18th century brasses. All drawer locks are original to the chest and we note one lock to one small drawer is missing, and one lock to a large drawer is missing.
