GREAT, Early Paper Mache Jack-o-Lantern MINT

You are bidding on a fabulous vintage paper mache jack-o-lantern. This piece has been part of personal collection, we have collected for years. The piece stands approx 3" in height and is about 4" in width at the widest part of the face. Made out of paper mache, hand-painted.We would estimate this piece to be 1920's in date, t is a faint stamp in the bottom which we believe to say Germany, most lantern of this type were german and we have owned similiar pieces with the purplish stamp on the bottom. All original, retains original paper insert for eyes, nose and mouth. T are red lips painted on this piece. The inside shows a little candle holder, which was never used, also retains the original wire, however the wire does not stand erect. This piece is in mint condition, no tears or holes, paint is vibrant orange. The color is much more muted than shown in pictures, the flash of the camera makes it appear brighter thanit actually is. Similar piece can be found in reference book Halloween in America, by Stuart Schneider, pg 123. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have, please ask prior to bidding.
