This is an original instruction book for the big brass ship's telegraphs. It's in an heavy-duty envelope marked "Joseph X. Robert" (a WW-II era Great Lakes U.S. Maritimer-class bulk freighter)... it reads # 68 on the envelope and says "Great Lakes Engineering Works HULLS 290 to 295 Inc. & 522 to 525 Inc., U.S. Maritime Commission, U.S.M.C. Hulls 579 to 588 Inc., Design L6-S-B1, Contract MCc1834, Service, Electric Telegraph, U.S.M.C. Approval, Date of Issue: Apr. 19, 1943" (this is all an original stamp on this very old folder). Inside the folder is the book titled "Bendix Aviation Corporation, Marine Division, 68, Electric Telegraph System Instruction Book" and then has the SAME stamp that is on the folder with hull # info. This book has 15-pages of VERY technical data about the telegraphs, including graphs and charts of numbers and electrical data, etc. and then has ANOTHER 15 or more pages that are complete fold-out (each to 3 full pages in width!) blue-print drawings of every last detail of the telegraphs. It's a really neat book and for anyone who actually OWNS one of these gems, this book is a MUST-HAVE! If you have any questions or want to see the photos larger in email, just feel free to ask. Thank you. I am selling this collection of maritime goodies for my cousin who was 15 years in the business. All this stuff is from read more
