A real gem; with impressive large size, beautiful design, detailed hand-carved decoration, great color and in excellent condition ! This eye-catching, beautiful Peking Glass Vase from old China is a WWII era hand carved original, and NOT one of the recent machine-made laser-cut reproductions ! This large, impressive vase was likely made in the period 1930's to late 1940's, and was made in the two-layer hand-cut Cameo Glass style for which Chinese artisans have been famous for over 500 years. This particular Vase is made of bright Emerald Green glass over a Snow-White under layer, and features a design of Hibiscus Blossoms and foliage, accented by a very detailed, large Butterfly. The intricate, detailed design is entirely hand-cut, as evidenced by the deeply-cut design of graduated depth and tapered edges, which is very different from the flat, one-dimensional style of modern reproductions. The craftsmanship present in this beautiful piece is exceptional: you can see every vein in the leaves, every fold in the flower petals, and even the tiny segments of the Butterfly's body are all clearly visible ! I've posted close-up photos so you can see the condition, beautiful design, exceptional workmanship and highly detailed decoration present in this great piece for yourself ! Note that any bright spots in the photos are reflected camera flash. This beautiful old Peking Glass Vase is a large, impressive size: it is a full 11.75 inches tall, is 5.5 inches across the "fattest" part of the body, and is 3.25 inches wide at the opening. Condition of this 50+ year-old vase is excellent: t are NO chips, cracks, flakes, stains or repairs anyw on the piece ! T are no identifying marks on this vase, as genuine old Peking Glass was not marked.
