Eminent Italian operatic tenor, considered one of the first tenori di grazia in opera history. He was endowed with a natural, sensuous voice which he deployed with great intelligence and taste. A bold signature in black fountain pen on an unusually large 5.5 x 7.5-inch portion of an autograph album page: " To / Vincent Lopez / with / my sincere admiration / Tito Schipa / 1936 ." Joe Jacobs-- the Jewish manager of boxer Max Schmelling-- signs on the verso, alongside with some unidentified notables. The piece is in good condition, with some minor light, scattered smudging which does not affect the signature itself, a very minute tear along the righthand border, and some age-related toning and surface creasing throughout.
