THESE WILL DATE FROM 1860-1890. THEY ARE SOLID HEAVY IRON AND COULD BE USED IN A VARIETY OF WAYS. MY CONSIGNOR HAD THE PAIR SURROUNDING THE EDGES OF A WINDOW TO GIVE THE OPENING THAT SPECIAL TOUCH OF VICTORIANA. THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS. THEY LOOK GOOD AS THEY WERE MADE OR HUNG UPSIDE DOWN AS WELL. EACH IS IN VERY FINE CONDITION WITH ONLY LIGHT SURFACE WEAR. ONE IS MISSING A TINY FLORET ELEMENT AT THE VERY TOP...SEE PICS. I HARDLY NOTICED IT UNTIL I LOOKED THEM OVER ABOUT 7 TIMES. THESE WERE POLISHED AND LIGHTLY LACQUERED AT ONE TIME AND HAVE AGED NICELY OVER THE YEARS. OVERALL, THEY ARE AS WONDERFUL AS THEY LOOK!
