I am listing some Nice Antique Photos this week (see last photo for a group sampling). is a Heart-Rending Antique 1/6 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE Photograph of a SMALL CHILD Taken POST-MORTEM as a Memorial. Image is 3-1/4" x 2-3/4". Good image with the bulk of child clear. Looks to have a colored beaded necklace around the child's neck with something gold in it's hand. T is a name written on the other half of case which looks like "Emma Raymond" . I cannot read the second line of info (see close-up). The image darkens to an iridescence around the child in an even manner, which actually frames and highlights the child well. Some cloudiness of some kind on the body half of photo which appears and disappears at different angles. Image is on a copper plate. The fancy gilt casing is in very good condition with no blemishes. The leather covered case is dettached, but both swing latches are still t to lock one side. Great Early Image! Look for my other nice old photos I will be listing as well.
