GREAT QUALITY ENGLISH EARLY VICTORIAN SILVER TOAST RACK Presented is a marvelous English Victorian silver plated toast rack. The toast rack has a nice design with elegant scroll and leaf decoration on the feet, the base, and the handle. The quality of the craftsmanship is excellent. This is an early Victorian piece, probably made in the 1830s or 1840s. The toast rack is hallmarked with WG on the side of one of the feet, although this is not necessarily the maker. The toast rack is in great overall condition. One of the feet was broken and has been poorly repaired, but the repair could be cleaned up quite nicely. It was glued with epoxy which has subsequently yellowed. The epoxy could easily be removed and it could be either soldered or epoxied in a much cleaner fashion. The silver plating is completely intact except for a small amount of wear on the bottom of the feet. T are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no other repairs. The toast rack is 7 1/8 inches long and 6 3/4 inches tall.
