Great Quality English Sterling Repousse Snuff Box

Presented is a lovely, sterling silver snuff box made in Birmingham, England in 1924. The box is in a long oval shape and the body as well as the lid are covered in gorgeous, repousse designs. The high relief, floral decorations are detailed and crisp. The lid has a gadrooned border and the cartouche on the top has never been monogrammed. The hinge is tight and very secure. The interior has a fine, deep yellow gold wash.

The underside is marked with the anchor for teh city of Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter z for the year 1924 and a maker's mark. The inside lid is also marked with the lion passant and the date letter z.

This fine quality piece is in excellent condition and the designs are crisp. T are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.

The box measures 2 1/2 inches long and weighs 20 grams.
