Very nice gentlemans walking stick/cane. The Shaft is malacca and quite sturdy. I am not totally sure of this sticks age, so I have erred on the careful side, though it could easily date back far earlier. Shaft is straight topped with a gorgeous head and neck of what looks like an English Pointer with a collar and filigree going down until it reaches the shaft. The stick is is 34 inches overall and has some wear and tear marks near the original metal ferrule, which has also seen some wear and tear but only in keeping with the sticks age and is still very servicable. There is a circular mark about six inches down the shaft that suggests there was a band around it at some time in its life. The stick overall is in quite good condition is sturdy and surprisingly heavy. It has a heft to it I certainly would not like to be hit by it. Without going to a metal expert I am unsure of what it is made of. It has a sort of a gold like bronze look but could be pewter but it does not appear to be soft. Maybe some kind expert could put me right by looking at the picture. I am selling a number of canes and sticks from my collection. Basically because i have got too many and my wife is moaning. Many have quality animal heads many dogs but also birds. I am a well known dog behaviourist hence the dogs. All of these sticks are good quality I do not
