This is a wonderful Santa Clara sgraffito (incised) jar in various shades of brown created by Polly Rose Folwell (b. 1962). The jar has a carved-out opening, very similar to the style her mother, Jody Folwell, sometimes uses. The simple design is repeated around the pot, increasing in size each time. Polly has incorporated the "Folwell X," which is often used by her mother and sister as well, into the design. The jar is in superb condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The polishing is excellent. The jar is approximately 3-3/4" tall and 4-1/2" wide. The jar is signed, "Polly Rose." Please look carefully at the photographs, which are part of the item description . Polly Rose Folwell is the daughter of Jody Folwell, the granddaughter of Rose Naranjo and the sister of Susan Folwell. She is the niece of Rina Swentzell, Dolly Naranjo-Neikrug and Nora Naranjo-Morse, among others. The pot will be well packaged and shipped to you by USPS Priority Mail for United States customers.
