GREAT TREEN FOLK ART CARVED WHIRLIGIG POLICEMAN AAFA

A wonderful whirligig folk art carving of a policeman – ca. 1930-40’s, he has just loads of personality. He is very well carved with a distinct uniform jacket, belt and hat. He has a great face with a large nose and ears and a very bright smile showing is well-formed teeth! You can’t help but return his smile! His uniform coat and hat brim were dark blue…The top of his hat, his shirt, gloves, pants and face have remaining old white paint. The wear on his whirling arms definitely show which way the prevailing wind blew. There are a few chinks of wood missing from his hat and some slight age cracks, but other than that he is in excellent condition. He can stand on his own, or there is a metal brace between his shoes where he could be mounted on a pole. He stands 12” tall and would be a great addition to any folk art or whirligig collection.
