This is a Carcharodon carcharias, better known as the GREAT WHITE SHARK tooth fossil from South Carolina. This tooth is from the lower jaw and it measures 1-1/2 inches long!!! Lower jaw specimens are WAY more rare than upper jaw specimens. This is largely due to the fact that Great White Sharks use their lower teeth sort of like feelers to inspect things the same way you and I use our fingers. Sharks obviously do not have hands and fingers and they can only use their mouth to check things out. This is an EXCELLENT specimen with AWESOME SHAPE and COLOR! The Great White Shark is not an easy find in the south eastern United States and to find a specimen as nice as this one is a TRUE PRIZE by anybody's standards! Ask ANY diver and ask ANY collector and you will find that they ALL love nice GW's! This is partly due to their relative rarity compared to Megalodon teeth and also due to the fact that this shark still lives today. Any way you look at it these teeth are a favorite among collectors and they ALWAYS WILL!!! NO REPAIR!!! NO POLISHING!!! NO FUNNY BUSINESS WHATSOEVER!!!! When you buy from the Tooth Sleuth you are buying a 100% Guaranteed authentic fossil in its natural
