That's what the Greater Magic sales pamphlet read on the back. At the time however it's $10 cover price was stratospheric!

This book has been in every top ten list of magic books ever since its publication. It is a gold mine of information. Think you know the prayer vase? Check out the routine on page 847 for some alternate methods that will fool those who think they know the secret. What about tonguing cigarettes? It's got it. Billiard Balls, Linking Rings, coin work and card subtleties? Its got it all! This is why every serious magic book collection has to have a copy. It is the jewel in the crown. Richard Kaufman's edition is highly sought after for the reason of completeness. But this book is about the history. As Beloque said to Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark about the Ark itself, "this is history." Read Kaufman's, but revere Hilliard's original.

This book itself is in nice condition. Clean, no markings that I noticed, spin is in very good condition. Just looking through it now I noticed the back top corner is bent a bit like it was dropped on it once. It has Maurice Newell's bookplate inside the cover. The dust jacket has seen better days so I included pics of each side so you could see it.
