This is an interesting and very colorful ewer/pitcher. It it reminiscent of the Greek Goddess Diana, "Goddess of the Hunt," as the handle represents her bow and arrow, and t is a beautiful animal painted on the vase.

It comes from the estate of a lady who traveled internationally from the 1940s through the 1960s.

The bottom of the vase has the following mark:

The ewer stands 10 inches tall and is 3-1/2 inches in diameter at its widest. It is painted in a colorful purple, lilac, and green floral design with red accents to the flowers. T is a lot of gilding to the piece. All of the paint is in excellent condition, and I find no chips, cracks or crazing. The bottom rim is quite smooth to the touch, so I assume the ewer has been used for display only. The design is handpainted over red clay pottery.
