A very nice older Greek Mythology Chess Set. I have owned the set for over 25 years after purchasing it in an antique shop in San Francisco while on a business trip. I was not new when I purchased it. The pieces seem to be hand painted in places. I honestly do not know what the pieces are made from, my assumption would be, some early form of plastic or something. They do have a nice heft to them as my belief is they are solid in nature. The Pawns are between 2-3/4 & 2-7/8" tall, Rooks are about 3-3/8" tall, the Bishops right at 4" and the King and Queens a little taller respectively. The set always received complements as it was displayed in a curio cabinet. I am selling because I have accumulated way too many impulse buy toys over the years and I have a number of other chess sets anyway, some of which will be going soon also. I have made a decision, as I am getting older, "If I do not use something at least once in 6 months", I will get ride of it! The set is complete in every way.
