Up for bid is a framed and matted print by Florida artist Charles Rowe. It is a signed and numbered print (123/400). Am not sure when it was done. I've googled Charles Rowe found an article written by Dorothy A. Borders. I believe the print she is writing about below, is the same print as what I'm selling, different number. Taken from the "Backyard Birder: August 2006 Archives": " The Green Heron, seen at a distance, can appear almost blue and might be mistaken for some other small herons, but, if you are fortunate enough to get a good look at it up close, you will see a very colorful bird. The back, which gives it its name, is glossed with green, sometimes with a bit of blue. The breast, while mostly chestnut, depending on the age of the bird, may be faintly streaked with white. Its beak is black and its large eye is yellow. I can describe the bird in detail because for many years a large portrait of it has hung on my wall. Several years ago, as my husband and I walked around a gallery in the mall, I admired a large, framed print hanging on the wall. It was a picture of the Green Heron, number 100 out of 400 numbered prints, by an artist named Charles Rowe . read more
