This Bakelite bangle is so simple, yet so beautiful! The triangular shape calls to mind the "Machine Age" artwork and design of the Art Deco era. The color is bright, lime green. It is a nice hefty bangle- the wide points of the triangle are 11/16" across, and the triangle tapers down to 1/4" across at the sides. The bangle is 7/16" thick. The inner diameter is 2-1/2". This bangle looks great when stacked together with other geometric shapes in other colors- in fact, I have a matching yellow bangle up for sale on Ebay right now! (This auction is for the green bangle only!) This piece has a lovely patina on it, and I guarantee it to be a vintage piece; not a newly made piece from old Bakelite stock. Tested positive as Bakelite (phenol formaldehyde or phenolic resin) using Simichrome and warm water. For more info on Bakelite testing facts and myths, please click the "me" icon next to my Ebay ID name. I am lucky to have a father who was a polymer chemist and specialist for the Xerox Corp. for over 35 years. My father is one of the nation's foremost specialists on polymers, and he helps me to identify vintage plastics- I guarantee this bangle to be vintage Bakelite (phenol formaldehyde or phenolic resin). This is not Lucite, Celluloid, "Fakelite," French Bakelite, or any other type of new polymer. It is not a newly constructed piece made from vintage Bakelite stock. I have been selling some of my Bakelite jewelry collection so that I can buy more Bakelite and Celluloid buttons. Please take a look at the other Bakelite bracelets that I have up on Ebay this week, and please feel free to email with any questions.
