consisting of a carved wooden mask representing a woman from Ammassalik; the grooves probably indicate her tattoo lines. Carver accented natural wood with black paint and gave her fierce bone teeth, one missing, height 15.25`; PLUS a decorative, multicolored, trade bead collar attached to muslin blouse with matching beaded cuffs; collar trimmed with black felt, cuffs with black velvet; height 17.5` excluding band; PLUS a pair of sealskin fur shorts decorated with dyed red leather, bands of fur, and strips of leather woven with strips of dyed leather that replicate a delicate braid (amazing craftsmanship), height at center front, 9.75`; PLUS a pair of fur lined inner boot-stockings, embellished with a 4.5` band of cotton crochet over pink cloth, trimmed with a 5` band of colorful cross-stitch on white; height 28.5`; AND a beautiful pair of outer off-white leather boots with another band of leather with strips of dyed leather woven into the band, height 13.5` (Sturtevant 1978, 5:637).
