I auctioning one of my Greenland paddles. I have two others available. 88 inches long, 21 inch loom, and the blades are about 3-1/8 inch. This paddle is brand new! The body is western red cedar, with black locust edging and tips for toughness. I estimate weight at 30 ounces.This is a very fine, yet tough paddle. A rounded rectangular loom and pronounced shoulders make blade indexing easy and foolproof, sharp blade edges combined with oval cross section resists flutter and cavitation, while increasing bite on the water. Like all Greenland paddles, it really comes into its own while sculling and rolling.After carving, the paddle is sanded to 220 grit, then finished with a shop mixed finish consisting of pure, raw tung oil, pine tar and turpentine. Again, this is a very well executed and refined design. I'm willing to offer it in a real, no reserve auction. Come what may, this paddle will be sold if anyone thinks its worth the starting price of 50 bucks. Don't miss out!
