Greg Shooner Redware Pottery Grease Betty Lamp One of a kind, RARE, early wood fired grease lamp. Hand-thrown at Turtle Creek Pottery in Ohio by Greg Shooner in 1989 - this would be a great addition to your collection. This unusual whale oil lamp/grease lamp, is from WF #37 (wood-firing #37) and was made for the Museum Piece Collection. Dimensions: 9-1/2" High Base - 4" diameter Top of dish - 5-1/2" diameter Handle attached inside dish and attached to lamp at approximate 7-1/2" height. This grease lamp has dark brown slip/glaze over the entire pottery piece - this is a graceful, beautiful, early piece of Greg's eye-catching pottery. Notice the green flash around the top of the lamp; this can only be accomplished by woodfiring! Superb workmanship & great quality! Lead-based glaze, chips and aging are done intentionally by Greg to give this great redware lamp an early appearance. NOT for food use. US Bidders/Buyer ONLY.
