Up for auction is this NEW shiny Gretzky EASTON HXP 5100 chrome aluminumhockey stick. The stick is NOT GAME USED. I personally acquired this stick directly from Easton through an owner of a sporting goods store in 1993. It is my understanding that at that time, this was a one-time offer from Easton and was the first time Gretzky's chrome stick was made available to the dealers. This stick has never been used, cut, taped, or altered in any way, shape or form. This s tick has never seen a puck or taken a shot. The stick has been stored for 18 years, since 1993. The "chrome" aluminum shaft was the exact specs that Wayne Gretzky used during that period. The shaft is "Pro Balance Extra Stiff". You can view an actual Gretzky game used model of this stick by /stickshtml/gretzky_collection_47.html The left handed blade is the stock blade that came with the stick. It is the Easton RB 1000 blade. Unfortunately, I could not obtain Gretzky's custom patterned blade. Easton at that time would not release his actual blade. In subsequent years, Easton released many "consumer sticks" with shafts and blades labeled Gretzky for the masses. This is not one of those sticks. One final note. It appears to me that these sticks are very rare, especially in NEW condition. I have yet to see another HXP 5100 Extra Stiff in this condition available on Ebay. read more
