I have been honored to auction many of the the great ones over the years, such as the fabulous Corcoran Collection in 2004-2005, the extensive Connors Collection in 2006, and "John Doe" Collection just a few years ago. Now there unfolds another rare opportunity for collectors. The esteemed and extension Hoosier Collection auction is commencing.The collection originates from an anonymous Indiana collector who spent year assembling a wide-variety of higher grade and often rare antique soldiers and figures. There may be a handling chip or two on the reverse or edge of base. Frontal figure view will be mark-free .MINTY : The condition in which the soldier/figure/accessory was initially issued by the factory, to include a nice patina and fresh look. May have a few handling chips, when prevent MINT classification.Near MINT : The original color and paint coverage in which the soldier/figure was initially issued by the factory, but may have 3-4 non-detracting small handling marks. The figure will show only a hint of play wear and most of the surfaces will have a fresh looking factory gloss.Excellent 99+ : Trace of wear and minute areas of missing paint on the high points such as the tip of the nose and elbows. A minimum 99% of the original factory paint remaining. The figure will still have attractive original factory paint finish.Excellent 98+ : Light play wear. Only a minute amount of paint missing with a minimum 98-99% of the original factory paint remaining. Most of the surfaces will have attractive factory paint gloss and the figure should be extremely displayable with a pleasing overall appearance.Excellent 95+ : P lay wear evident. Minimum 95-97% of the original factory paint remaining. Paint wear will show on the nose, chin, elbows, shoulder, knees, edge of the base, and on projecting parts such as the tail, spears, guns or rifles, arrows, hands, bazooka's, skis, flags, etc..Excellent 90+ : Minimum 90-94% of the original factory paint remaining. Obviously a played with appearance with signs of wear and aging all surfaces of the body and most likely the edges of the base, but still highly collectible.Excellent 85+ : Minimum 85% of the original factory paint remaining. Surfaces may have dull spots, but figure still displays well.Very Good 80+ : Minimum 80% of the original factory paint remaining, but still has nice colors and is displayable. Surfaces showing medium wear on most surfaces, heavier wear on the high points. Most of the original finish has lost luster.Very Good 60+ : A minimum 60-80% of the original factory paint remaining. Collectible to all but the most discriminating. Finish is dull from handling.Good 30-60 : Considerable play wear, but has at least enough paint to have some attractiveness and the casting is basically sound. Paint may be chipping or missing on all surfaces. Heavy wear on chin and tip of nose and other high points. Medium wear on the remainder of the castingFair 15-30 : Heavy wear. 15-30% of the original factory paint remaining. Most of paint missing and the base metal casting high-points show smoothed or rounded surfaces from handling. Value is very low, unless the figure is rare.Poor <15 : Little or no paint remaining. Figure is worn and most casting high-points have smoothed or rounded surfaces. Only the rarest pieces would be acceptable for collecting.* Grading applies to unbroken soldiers that have not been repainted.* Subtract one grade level for unusual or large factory casting defects or sloppy paint jobs.* Note: Gas v ent holes for hollow cast figures are normal and acceptable if there are located on the factory engineered venting locations such as the side of top of the head or neck, base, shoulder or legs.After purchasing, read more
