DescriptionThank you for checking out this listing. Paul says:A classic example of the post English Provincial School of art and yet before the realist style of the late Victorian era. This is a strong and dynamic portrait by the younger member of the Herring family whose full title is "A Gentleman on a Bay Hunter" (With his two Greyhounds). It location is obviously a coursing event, (probably Newmarket) with the un-named gentleman and his three most prized possessions, his horse and his 2 Greyhounds. In the background are several more horses and Greyhounds with one pair in the middle of the painting, clearly in the "slips". A very strong and appealing print, which has the advantage of being available in two different sizes, this being the small of the two. Artist: Benjamin Herring Jr. (UK) 1830 - 1871 Title: "A Gentleman on a Bay Hunter" (With His Two Greyhounds) Size: 12" x 16" (30cm x 40cm) including border (+/-) Status: Fine Art Reproduction Condition Excellent. With no creases, scuffs or bends. I suspect you won't see one in better condition than this one. Please note that this is NOT a blow up from a postcard, or a reprint, copy, computer-generated print or an inkjet/laser printer copy of the type you may well see offered elsewhere. It is a guaranteed commercially printed and professionally published fine art print. Payment read more
